We photograph and document the pond during cleaning, including visible problems and any fish concerns we notice. Your customer profile lets us compare earlier conditions when investigating a later issue.
After winter, we look for damage around the liner and changes in rock position or water flow. Rodent damage and freeze-thaw movement can mean a feature behaves differently when it starts again.

Our general recommendation is aquatic plant coverage of roughly 60–70% of the water surface at maturity, adjusted for your pond and how it is used. We consider plants alongside filtration and aeration when recommending a care plan; plant coverage alone does not guarantee clear water.

Finding Hidden Liner Damage in Pepperwood
During a spring visit to a large water feature in Sandy’s Pepperwood community, unexpected water loss led us to investigate rat damage around the liner. What initially appeared to be two or three holes turned out to be close to a dozen.
The repair required a crane to move large rocks in the landscaped yard. We exposed the liner, patched the holes, and reassembled the feature, resolving the water-loss problem. This was additional repair work beyond the cleanout.
